- Vyalev (foscarbidopa / foslevodopa)
Interactions between your drugs
sapropterin foslevodopa
Applies to: sapropterin, Vyalev (foscarbidopa / foslevodopa)
Using sapropterin together with foslevodopa may alter the effects of foslevodopa. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or if you experience uncontrollable movements of the face, eyelids, mouth, tongue, neck, arms, hands, or legs, irritability, or unusual changes in mood or behavior. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food/lifestyle interactions
sapropterin food/lifestyle
Applies to: sapropterin
Food increases the absorption of sapropterin. Sapropterin should be administered with food, preferably at the same time each day. Sapropterin tablets should be dissolved in 4 to 8 ounces (120 to 240 mL) of water or apple juice and taken within 15 minutes of dissolution.
foslevodopa food/lifestyle
Applies to: Vyalev (foscarbidopa / foslevodopa)
Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of foslevodopa such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with foslevodopa. You may experience reduced effectiveness of foslevodopa in the presence of foods or enteral (tube) feedings with a high protein content. This may make the symptoms of Parkinson's disease worse. Talk with your doctor or nutrition counselor about the best foods to eat while you are taking this medication. Contact your doctor if your condition changes.
