3 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- tiludronate
- Vi-Daylin with Iron Chewable (multivitamin with iron)
Interactions between your drugs
multivitamin with iron tiludronate
Applies to: Vi-Daylin with Iron Chewable (multivitamin with iron), tiludronate
Tiludronate and multivitamin with iron should not be taken orally at the same time. Products that contain magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, and/or other minerals may interfere with the absorption of tiludronate into the bloodstream and reduce its effectiveness. You should take multivitamin with iron at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after the tiludronate dose. Talk to a healthcare professional if you are not sure whether a product contains something that could potentially interact with your medication or if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
multivitamin with iron food
Applies to: Vi-Daylin with Iron Chewable (multivitamin with iron)
Food may reduce the absorption and blood levels of multivitamin with iron. In addition, some oral medications can also interfere with multivitamin with iron absorption into the bloodstream, which may make the medication less effective in treating your condition. Likewise, multivitamin with iron may interfere with the absorption of other orally administered medications. You should take multivitamin with iron on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
tiludronate food
Applies to: tiludronate
Food significantly decreases the levels of tiludronate. Tiludronate should be administered on an empty stomach with 6 to 8 ounces of plain water at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after food. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
