Drug Interaction Report

Using loracarbef together with lactobacillus casei may decrease the effects of lactobacillus casei when these medications are taken at the same time. To prevent or minimize the interaction, lactobacillus casei should be administered at least 1 to 2 hours before or after loracarbef. Contact your doctor if you have any concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

You may experience reduced absorption of loracarbef in the presence of food. Take loracarbef on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.

Talk to your doctor before using alcohol together with folic acid. Excessive consumption of alcohol may reduce the absorption and increase the elimination of folic acid.
