Percodan is the same as percocet except that percodan has ASA in it while percocet has tylenol. That's the only difference between the two....Dave

ASA is the pharmaceutical reference to Aspirin.

So, as Dave said, that is the only difference, Percodan contains Aspirin and Oxycodone and Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone.

For some people, the Aspirin works better for them with the Oxy to relieve their pain, and for some people the Acetaminophen. Sometimes it also depends on other body conditions, like liver or kidney function or problems, so that can have an effect on what the doc prescribes. There are also some new formulations that use Ibuprofen.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~

Percodan always worked better for me but that was in the 70s. I don't know if they've changed the formulation or not other than the aspirin >>. Tylenol. Ibuprofen tears my stomach up. The aspirin didn't.

    Default Percodan >> Percocet

I have Had health issues for several years one thing about taking narcotics with any sort of Tylenol aspirin acetaminophen or anything like that in it is also taking the chance of having other problems after long-term uses such as stomach problems maybe even ulcers. I have talked to my doctor about this on a couple of occasions because when you're taking a prescription that already has acetaminophen or Tylenol in it that means you usually cannot take much more Tylenol or acetaminophen because you're already exceeding the normal dosage. I have talked to my doctor this subject because that means whenever I just get a mild headache or anything like that the Tylenol will not work for me like it does for somebody else that is not used to taking the time. So what I get now is oxycodone 15 mg without the extra Tylenol or acetaminophen in it. I think it's a plus because on the days when I'm hurting more I can go ahead and take that little extra Tylenol or if I have a headache I can go ahead and take some acetaminophen or other over-the-counter pain medications without worrying about it affecting me my liver or my stomach. It's not any weaker in the dosage they give you in anything like Percocet or Lortab which is closely related, Percodan Percocet and Lortab are pretty much all the same thing the only difference is basically an over-the-counter medication you can buy any day to add to it. The good thing is now that I do this I no longer suffer from his many stomach problems as I used to have , I was also causing my body to have first stages of cirrhosis of deliver and I don't drink, I am not a professional but I am a professional and dealing with pain every day in my life . Good luck and hope you feel better.
