Reason for the Shortage

  • Apotex had an import ban on all solid medications including pentoxifylline.
  • Major has discontinued their pentoxifylline 400 mg tablets.

Estimated Resupply Dates

  • Sanofi-Aventis has Trental 400 mg tablets available.
  • Mylan has available pentoxifylline 400 mg tablets in the 100 (NDC 00378-0357-01) and 500 count presentations (NDC 00378-0357-05).
  • UDL has available pentoxifylline 400 mg 100 count, unit dose (NDC 51079-0889-20) and 100 count, robot-ready (NDC 51079-0889-19) tablets.
  • Teva has available pentoxifylline 400 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 00093-5116-01) and 500 count (NDC 00093-5116-05) presentations. 
  • Apotex has available pentoxifylline 400 mg tablets in 100 count (NDC 60505-0033-06) and 500 count (NDC 60505-0033-07) presentations.  The 400 mg 5,500 count presentation is on back order and the company cannot estimate a release date.
