Drug interactions between ginkgo and ma huang
Interactions between your drugs
ginkgo ma huang
Applies to: ginkgo and ma huang
Talk to your doctor before using ginkgo together with ma huang. Some preparations of ginkgo biloba have caused seizures, and combining them with other medications that can also cause seizures such as ma huang may increase that risk. You may be more susceptible if you are elderly, undergoing alcohol or drug withdrawal, have a history of seizures, or have a condition affecting the central nervous system such as a brain tumor or head trauma. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
