Drug Interactions between Farydak and Motrin Childrens Cold
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- Farydak (panobinostat)
- Motrin Childrens Cold (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine)
Interactions between your drugs
ibuprofen panobinostat
Applies to: Motrin Childrens Cold (ibuprofen / pseudoephedrine) and Farydak (panobinostat)
Using panobinostat together with ibuprofen may increase the risk of bleeding. In clinical studies, treatment with panobinostat alone has been associated with severe and sometimes fatal hemorrhage. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness, lightheadedness, red or black tarry stools, coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds, severe headache, and weakness. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
panobinostat food
Applies to: Farydak (panobinostat)
Do not consume grapefruit, grapefruit juice, star fruit, pomegranate, or pomegranate juice during treatment with panobinostat. Doing so can increase blood levels of the medication. You may be more likely to experience side effects such as nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; loss of appetite; fatigue; swelling in the arms or legs; heart problems (e.G., chest pain, heart failure, irregular heartbeat); liver problems; and impaired bone marrow function resulting in low numbers of different types of blood cells, which can increase the risk of anemia, bleeding problems, and infections. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
ibuprofen food
Applies to: Motrin Childrens Cold (ibuprofen / pseudoephedrine)
Ask your doctor before using ibuprofen together with ethanol. Do not drink alcohol while taking ibuprofen. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by ibuprofen. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
pseudoephedrine food
Applies to: Motrin Childrens Cold (ibuprofen / pseudoephedrine)
Consumer information for this interaction is not currently available.
MONITOR: Coadministration of two or more sympathomimetic agents may increase the risk of adverse effects such as nervousness, irritability, and increased heart rate. Central nervous system (CNS) stimulants, particularly amphetamines, can potentiate the adrenergic response to vasopressors and other sympathomimetic agents. Additive increases in blood pressure and heart rate may occur due to enhanced peripheral sympathetic activity.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if two or more sympathomimetic agents are coadministered. Pulse and blood pressure should be closely monitored.
