Drug interactions between esmolol and fenoldopam
Interactions between your drugs
Applies to: esmolol and fenoldopam
Before starting fenoldopam, let your doctor know if you are currently receiving treatment with esmolol. Combining these medications can cause your blood pressure to drop too much. While fenoldopam alone can occasionally cause excessively low blood pressure, medications like esmolol can blunt the body's normal response to keep the blood pressure from getting too low, such as by increasing heart rate. You will need to be closely monitored by your doctor if these medications must be used together. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
