Drug Interactions between encorafenib and tasimelteon
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- encorafenib
- tasimelteon
Interactions between your drugs
tasimelteon encorafenib
Applies to: tasimelteon and encorafenib
Consumer information for this interaction is not currently available.
GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with potent inducers of CYP450 1A2 and 3A4 may significantly decrease the plasma concentrations of tasimelteon, which is primarily metabolized by these isoenzymes. When tasimelteon was administered after 11 days of treatment with the potent CYP450 inducer rifampin 600 mg/day, tasimelteon systemic exposure (AUC) decreased by approximately 90% compared to tasimelteon administered alone.
MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of tasimelteon with potent CYP450 3A4 inducers should generally be avoided due to the potential for reduced efficacy.

Drug and food interactions
encorafenib food
Applies to: encorafenib
You should preferably avoid consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking encorafenib. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can significantly increase the blood levels of encorafenib. This may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding complications, eye and vision problems, liver problems, irregular heart rhythm, and development of new skin cancers. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
tasimelteon food
Applies to: tasimelteon
Food can delay the absorption of tasimelteon, which may increase the amount of time it takes for the medication to work. You should take tasimelteon without food at the same time each night before going to bed. If you are a smoker, there is a possibility that tasimelteon may not work as well for you due to reduced blood levels of the medication in smokers compared to nonsmokers. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with tasimelteon. It can increase some of the side effects including dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.
