If you are currently being treated with doxycycline or have been treated within the last 3 days, you should talk to your doctor before receiving typhoid vaccine, live. Antibiotics like doxycycline can reduce the activity of the vaccine. To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive typhoid vaccine, live until at least 3 days after you complete your doxycycline therapy. If you have just been vaccinated, it would be best to wait at least 3 days before using doxycycline. Your doctor may be able to prescribe a different antibiotic if you need treatment for an infection. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
