After dorzolamide ophthalmic is instilled into the eye, the medication can be absorbed into the bloodstream and cause some of the same effects as topiramate. This may increase the risk and/or severity of side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, numbness, tingling, ringing in the ears, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney stones, fever, and heat stroke. You should drink plenty of fluids while being treated with topiramate, especially during exercise or prolonged exposure to warm temperatures. Let your doctor know if you experience sudden back pain, abdominal pain, blood in the urine, painful urination, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, decreased sweating, or a rise in body temperature.
