Applies to: Ostiva (multivitamin with minerals) and cyanocobalamin / folic acid / pyridoxine / strontium gluconate

Using multivitamin with minerals together with strontium gluconate may decrease the effects of strontium gluconate. Strontium gluconate should be taken at least two hours before or two hours after multivitamin with minerals, and preferably at bedtime. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. Strontium gluconate should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal and preferably at bedtime unless otherwise directed by your doctor. You may experience reduced absorption of strontium gluconate in the presence of food or milk. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
