Interactions between your drugs

Moderate

naproxen lansoprazole

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 500 (lansoprazole / naproxen) and Prevacid NapraPAC 500 (lansoprazole / naproxen)

Talk to your doctor before using naproxen together with lansoprazole. Using these medications together may affect the enteric coating of naproxen, causing the medication to be released too early in the body. This can make naproxen less effective. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Moderate

naproxen DAPTOmycin

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 500 (lansoprazole / naproxen) and Cubicin RF (daptomycin)

Naproxen can affect kidney function and may increase the blood levels of DAPTOmycin when used together. Contact your doctor if you experience increased side effects or your condition changes. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially if accompanied by fever or dark colored urine, as these may be signs and symptoms of a serious medical condition known as rhabdomyolysis that can occasionally occur during treatment with DAPTOmycin. Rhabdomyolysis involves the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue and, in some cases, can cause kidney damage and even death. Also let your doctor know if you experience other symptoms that could indicate more serious problems such as cough, breathlessness, fever, and burning, tingling, or numbness in the hands and feet. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Drug and food interactions

Moderate

naproxen food

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 500 (lansoprazole / naproxen)

Ask your doctor before using naproxen together with ethanol. Do not drink alcohol while taking naproxen. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by naproxen. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
