Let your doctor know you are receiving or have recently received carbonyl iron if you are scheduled for an imaging diagnostic procedure with gallium citrate Ga-67. You may need to stop using carbonyl iron for a certain amount of time before having the procedure. Food may reduce the absorption and blood levels of carbonyl iron. In addition, some oral medications can also interfere with carbonyl iron absorption into the bloodstream, which may make the medication less effective in treating your condition.
