Interactions between your drugs

Moderate

neostigmine trospium

Applies to: Bloxiverz (neostigmine) and Sanctura XR (trospium)

Ask your doctor before using neostigmine together with trospium. Using these medications together can cause increasing muscle weakness. In addition, such use may mask the less serious, gastrointestinal signs of trospium overdose and lead to difficulty breathing, chest pain, and possibly death. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Drug and food interactions

Moderate

trospium food

Applies to: Sanctura XR (trospium)

Trospium should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal unless otherwise directed by your doctor. You may experience reduced absorption of trospium in the presence of food. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
