Drug Interactions between belumosudil and Vimovo
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- belumosudil
- Vimovo (esomeprazole/naproxen)
Interactions between your drugs
esomeprazole belumosudil
Applies to: Vimovo (esomeprazole / naproxen) and belumosudil
Esomeprazole may decrease the blood levels of belumosudil, which may reduce its effectiveness in treating your condition. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
naproxen esomeprazole
Applies to: Vimovo (esomeprazole / naproxen) and Vimovo (esomeprazole / naproxen)
Talk to your doctor before using naproxen together with esomeprazole. Using these medications together may affect the enteric coating of naproxen, causing the medication to be released too early in the body. This can make naproxen less effective. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
esomeprazole food
Applies to: Vimovo (esomeprazole / naproxen)
Food may interfere with the absorption of esomeprazole. Esomeprazole should be taken at least one hour before meals and at the same time every day. When esomeprazole is given to patients receiving continuous enteral nutrition (tube feedings), the tube feeding should be interrupted for at least 1 hour before and 1 hour after the dose of esomeprazole. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
belumosudil food
Applies to: belumosudil
Consumer information for this interaction is not currently available.
ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Administration with food increases the oral bioavailability of belumosudil. The mechanism has not been described. Administration of belumosudil (200 mg single oral dose) in healthy subjects, with a fatty and calorie-rich meal (approximately half of the calories were contained in the fat) increased the mean belumosudil peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) by 120% and 100%, respectively, compared to administration under fasting conditions. The time to reach peak concentration (Tmax) was delayed by 30 minutes. Administration of oral belumosudil 200 mg once daily with food in patients with chronic graft-versus-host disease (chronic GVHD) lead to steady-state concentrations of the drug with an accumulation ration of 1.4.
MANAGEMENT: To ensure maximal oral absorption, belumosudil should be administered with a meal, every day at the same time.

naproxen food
Applies to: Vimovo (esomeprazole / naproxen)
Ask your doctor before using naproxen together with ethanol. Do not drink alcohol while taking naproxen. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by naproxen. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
