Drug interactions between auranofin and penicillamine
Interactions between your drugs
Applies to: penicillamine and auranofin
Ask your doctor before using penicillAMINE together with auranofin. Using these medications together can increase the side effects of either medication. This can cause fever, chills, sore throat, unusual bruising or bleeding, coughing, wheezing, unexplained shortness of breath, muscle weakness, or double vision. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
Applies to: penicillamine
You may experience reduced absorption of penicillAMINE in the presence of food. The effectiveness of the antibiotic may be reduced. PenicillAMINE should be administered one hour before or two hours after meals and at least one hour apart from any other drug, food, or milk. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
