Before starting amLODIPine, let your doctor know if you are currently receiving treatment with etrasimod. Using amLODIPine in this situation may cause a slowing of your heart rate that can lead to serious or life-threatening heart complications. This is most likely to occur within 2 days after starting treatment with etrasimod. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Contact your doctor if you develop dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain, or heart palpitations during treatment. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Drug and food interactions
valsartan food
Applies to: amlodipine / hydrochlorothiazide / valsartan
If you are taking valsartan you should avoid potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements without first talking to your doctor. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
etrasimod food
Applies to: etrasimod
Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of etrasimod. You should avoid grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or any supplements that contain grapefruit extract during treatment with etrasimod unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects, such as fever, high temperature or flu-like symptoms, severe headache, confusion, seizures, dizziness, tiredness, lightheadedness, chest pain, shortness of breath, or irregular or abnormal heartbeat, blurriness or shadows in the center of your vision, and nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, anorexia, or jaundice and/or dark urine. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
hydroCHLOROthiazide food
Applies to: amlodipine / hydrochlorothiazide / valsartan
HydroCHLOROthiazide and ethanol (alcohol) may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
