Definition: an ultraviolet lamp with a nickel oxide filter that only passes light with a maximal wavelength of about 3660 ?; used to detect by fluorescence hairs infected Microsporum audouinii, M. canis, var. distortum, or M. ferrugineum, producing greenish-yellow fluorescence. Also used to elicit coral-red fluorescence in erythrasma.
