Definition: Obsolete. “Chronic resynchronization therapy” (CRT), which is a device-based therapy with implanted pacemakers that stimulate both the right and the left heart chambers in a synchronized fashion to increase cardiac pump efficiency. CRT has been shown to improve symptoms and mortality rates in some groups of heart failure patients.
