Definition: an inconstant muscle on the pelvic surfaces of the sacrum and coccyx, the remains of a portion of the tail musculature of lower animals.

Synonym(s): musculus sacrococcygeus anterior, musculus sacrococcygeus ventralis, ventral sacrococcygeal muscle
