Pronunciation: yu'ter-o-glo'bin-a-du'sin

Definition: An a/ß heterodimeric protein found in renal tubule cells, thought to regulate ion transport through channels in the actin cytoskeleton. A mutant allele has been found in some patients with hypertension and it may be associated with the salt sensitive form of essential hypertension.
