trigeminal neuralgia

 

Definition: severe, paroxysmal bursts of pain in one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve; often induced by touching trigger points in or about the mouth.

Synonym(s): epileptiform neuralgia, facial neuralgia, Fothergill disease1, Fothergill neuralgia, tic douloureux, trifacial neuralgia
