Definition: Chronic contagious microbial inflammation, with hypertrophy, of the conjunctiva, marked by the formation of minute grayish or yellowish translucent granules caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.

Synonym(s): Egyptian ophthalmia, granular lids, granular ophthalmia
