Definition: A genus of poisonous plants (family Anacardiaceae), also known as Rhus, with smooth fruits and foliage that contain urushiol, which produces a contact dermatitis (Rhus dermatitis); species include poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans), poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum), and poison sumac (Toxicodendron vernix)
