TORCH syndrome

 

Definition: a group of infections, seen in neonates, which have crossed the placental barrier with similar clinical manifestations, although symptoms may vary in degree and time of appearance: toxoplasmosis, other infections, rubella, cytomegalovirus infection, and herpes simplex.
