tibial tarsal tendinous sheaths

 

Definition: synovial tendon sheaths that allow movement of tendons across the medial side of the tarsal bones, deep to flexor retinaculum; included are (1) the tendinous sheath (vagina tendinis/tendinum musculi...) of flexor digitorum longus (muscle) [TA] (...flexoris digitorum longi [TA]); (2) the tibialis posterior (muscle) [TA] (...tibialis posterioris [TA]); and (3) the flexor hallucis longus (muscle) [TA] (...flexoris hallucis longi [TA]).
