Pronunciation: thi'mo-sit

Definition: A cell that develops in the thymus, seemingly from a stem cell of bone marrow and of fetal liver; precursor of the thymus-derived lymphocyte (T lymphocyte) that effects cell-mediated (delayed type) sensitivity.
