sympathetic root of otic ganglion
Definition: branch arising from the periarterial plexus of the middle meningeal artery, bringing postsynaptic sympathetic fibers from the superior cervical sympathetic ganglion that traverse the ganglion without synapse for distribution to blood vessels within the parotid gland.
