succinate dehydrogenase

 

Definition: a flavoenzyme that catalyzes the removal of hydrogen from succinic acid and converts it into fumaric acid; succinate + FAD ? fumarate + FADH2; this complex is a part of the tricarboxylic acid cycle.

Synonym(s): fumarate reductase (NADH), fumaric hydrogenase
