stria vascularis of cochlear duct


Definition: the stratified epithelium lining the upper part of the ligamentum spirale cochleae; it is penetrated by capillaries and believed to be the site of production of endolymph.

Synonym(s): stria vascularis ductus cochlearisTA, psalterial cord, vascular stripe
