Strümpell phenomenon

Pronunciation: shtrim'pel

Definition: dorsal flexion of the great toe, sometimes of the entire foot, in a paralyzed limb when the extremity is drawn up against the body, flexing both knee and hip.

Synonym(s): tibial phenomenon
