split cast mounting

 

Definition:

  1. a cast with key grooves on its base, mounted on an articulator for the purpose of easy removal and accurate replacement; split remounting metal plates may be used instead of grooves in casts;
  2. a means for testing the accuracy of articulator adjustment.
