spinal veins


Definition: the anterior and posterior veins that drain the spinal cord; form a plexus on the surface of the cord from which veins pass along the spinal roots to the internal vertebral venous plexus and then to the regional segmental veins e.g., the posterior intercostal veins in the thoracic region.
