Definition: acid sodium sulfite, used in gastric and intestinal fermentation, externally in the treatment of parasitic diseases, and as an antioxidant in certain injections (s. metabisulfite).

Synonym(s): sodium hydrogen sulfite, sodium pyrosulfite
