sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy

 

Definition: a chronic disease occurring in children and characterized by massive painless cervical lymphadenopathy due to distension of the lymphatic sinuses by macrophages containing ingested lymphocytes, and by capsular and pericapsular fibrosis.

Synonym(s): Rosai-Dorfman disease
