Russell viper

Pronunciation: rus'el

Definition: characteristically marked, highly venomous snake (Vipera russellii) of southeastern Asia. The venom is coagulant in action and is used locally in a 1:10,000 solution for the arrest of hemorrhage in hemophilia.
