Definition: anastomosis of the distal end of the divided jejunum to the stomach, bile duct, or another structure, with implantation of the proximal end into the side of the jejunum at a suitable distance usually more than 40 cm below the first anastomosis. The bowel then forms a Y-shaped pattern.
