rectus femoris (muscle)
Definition: anterior (superficial) middle head of quadriceps femoris; origin, anterior inferior spine of ilium and upper margin of acetabulum; insertion, via common tendon of quadriceps femoris into patella, and via patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity.
