punchdrunk syndrome


Definition: a condition seen in boxers (pugilists), often years after their retirement, and presumably caused by repeated cerebral injury; characterized by weakness in the lower limbs, unsteadiness of gait, slowness of muscular movements, tremors of hands, dysarthria, and slow cerebration.
