Pronunciation: su'do-fo-lik'yu-li'tis

Definition: Erythematous follicular papules or, less commonly, pustules resulting from close shaving of very curly hair; growing tips of hairs consequently reenter the skin adjacent to the follicle, thus producing ingrown hairs; pseudofolliculitis of the beard area is very common in blacks.
