progressive vaccinia

 

Definition: a severe or even fatal form of vaccinia occurring chiefly in patients with an immunologic deficiency or dyscrasia and characterized by progressive enlargement of the initial and also of secondary lesions.

Synonym(s): vaccinia gangrenosa
