progressive pigmentary dermatosis

 

Definition: chronic purpura, especially of the legs in men, spreading to form red-brown patches and puncta described as cayenne pepper spots; associated microscopically with perivascular lymphocytic infiltration, diapedesis, and hemosiderosis.

Synonym(s): Schamberg fever
