Prevotella melaninogenica


Definition: a species found in the mouth, feces, infections of the mouth, soft tissue, respiratory tract, urogenital tract, and intestinal tract; implicated in periodontal disease; seen in aspiration. The type species of Pretovella.

Synonym(s): Bacteroides melaninogenicus
