prefabricated flap

 

Definition: a flap prepared before formal transfer by one or more preliminary operations in which additional specialized tissues are attached to the raw side of the flap to suit a particular reconstructive requirement (cartilage or skin placed before flap transfer for a full-thickness nasal defect).
