posterior semilunar cusp of aortic valve

 

Definition: of the three semilunar cusps of the aortic valve, the one that lies posteriorly in the fetal heart and in the right posterior position in the adult heart; it does not overlie the origin of either coronary artery.

Synonym(s): valvula noncoronaria (valvae aortae)
