plantar ligaments of interphalangeal joints of foot

Definition

ligaments located on the inferior (sole) aspect of the interphalangeal joints of the toes, flanked by and connected to the collateral ligaments, forming the plantar portion of the joint capsule; lighter but similar in structure and function to the palmar ligaments of metacarpophalangeal joints.
