Pronunciation: pi-men'ta, -to

Definition: The dried fruit of Pimenta officinalis (family Myrtaceae), a tree native to Jamaica and other parts of western hemisphere, used as a carminative and aromatic spice; pimenta oil comprises 3–4% of the dried fruit.
