phosphoroclastic reaction

 

Definition: cleavage of C–C bonds that involves phosphate transfer but not, as in phosphorolysis, directly to one of the products the decomposition of pyruvate to acetate + CO2, in which orthophosphate is added to ADP to form ATP.
