Medical Term:

perforator flap

Definition: a free flap that is based on vessels that “perforate” or penetrate and traverse a muscle before piercing the fascia to reach the skin. Because the donor vessels have traversed muscle before reaching the fascia, a longer vascular pedicle can be dissected.
